uconn GmbH develops industry-independent plug-and-play solutions for IoT applications and supports companies in the implementation of digitization projects.  In doing so, Julian's team relies on the specially developed Juconn platform, which serves as the basis for a wide variety of end applications and. Solutions in the field of energy monitoring, which are already proving their worth in the district heating sector and in optimizing heating costs in the housing industry, deserve special mention.

What is the application?
Juconn is using DH electronics' IoT gateways in a smart building application. Specifically, it involves the central control and management of infrared heaters in vacation homes from a distance. The aim is to reduce energy consumption and, for example, only heat when a vacation home is actually booked.

What was the initial situation?
The contact between DH electronics and Juconn came about through a recommendation from an existing customer. Product Manager Stefan Gonzo and Juconn founder Julian Dawo had a casual exchange at the beginning before a concrete approach for a cooperation arose for the first time with the vacation home project.

What are the distinguishing features of the cooperation?
The cooperation between DH electronics and Juconn is very cooperative. Although Juconn focuses primarily on software for IoT applications, customers are always asking for a recommendation for suitable hardware. This is where the IoT Gateway from DH electronics comes into play, which was developed by DH electronics specifically for applications in the area of "Controls and Connectivity". Devices can be easily networked with each other and data from the sensor level can be processed in the cloud or on the edge. For example, several temperature sensors are installed in the vacation homes and transmit temperature values to the IoT gateway via Bluetooth. From there, the data is then sent to a cloud, evaluated and displayed on a dashboard in the Juconn web app. Temperature values can thus not only be displayed remotely, but also adjusted - for example, when guests arrive. Thanks to the smart building solution, the energy efficiency of the buildings is optimized and at the same time the comfort is increased for the vacation park operators thanks to the intelligent control.
