Thanks to our modular system, we are capable of developing individual embedded solutions quickly, easily and cost-effectively. We make use of existing components, especially for human-machine interfaces and IoT gateways, thus enabling a short time-to-market for individual developments.
The results of the hardware development are impressive: in addition to individual embedded solutions, we offer a range of standard products:
You choose between a lot of possibilities such as application control by using our SOMs, operating machines and systems with our Human Machine Interfaces or networking sensors, actuators and devices with a cloud by using our IoT Gateways. Click here for our standard products.
As a specialist for individual embedded systems, we are also happy to take on the development of customer-specific embedded devices and and coordinate our product families to fulfil your requirements.
A System on Module (SOM) is an embedded computer module, often referred to as a Computer on Module (COM), which is the core component of any product. At the beginning of a SOM project, developers have to choose, e.g. the right form factor as this is the guiding principle for every project. The decision between an individual or manufacturer-specific form factor and industry standards such as SMARC or OSM is not always easy, as it depends on various factors. In addition, a clear definition has to be made with regard to manufacturer, cooling solutions, power management and whether the module has to be pluggable or solderable. Here you find our SOM Selection Guide.
Our goal: to be as close to series production as possible with the first prototype - for shorter project times, reduced rework and long-term cost savings.
Why DH?
We provide complete documentation (e.g. initial sample test reports, ROHS, REACH) and take care of export licenses and certificates of origin. With us, you save time and go into series production faster - without compromising on quality and sustainability!
Our modular system enables cost-effective and flexible embedded solutions. IoT Gateways can be quickly tailored to customer requirements with minimal adjustments and proven components. Expansion modules offer additional interfaces, even as stand-alone devices.
Our Human Machine Interfaces are flexibly configurable: with or without an aluminium frame, freely selectable System On Modules and numerous customization options. That’s why they ensure maximum scalability and versatile application options.
Prototyping is an important step on the way from the idea to the series product. Although the concept and the circuit diagram may look promising, the functionality only becomes apparent in the practical test. At DH electronics, we focus on assembling prototypes as early as possible and test them extensively in order to save unnesessary additional costs and development time. This saves unnecessary additional costs and additional development time. We are equipped with our own small laboratory for prototyping, in which our employees realize initial test setups.
DH electronics has been developing customized embedded systems for more than 30 years and almost as long we have been dealing with the planning and realisation of test benches to test our products before delivery. The functionality of numerous interfaces must be checked, especially in the case of System on Modules.
We develop the appropriate test bench for each newly developed product and thus ensure its functionality. We combine know-how from hardware and software development as well as mechatronics to plan and implement the test benches in the best possible way. The customer is as a result independent of the EMS service provider. The test bench is therefore the property of the customer, which means that production can be easily relocated.
We also ensure a long-term availability of 10+ years for our hardware so that you can guarantee your planning security. Concerning hardware development, we take the obsolescence management very seriously in order to guarantee our customers highest quality and efficiency.
Obsolescence management is a structured process that examines and reduces the effects of obsolescences at an early stage. Negative consequences of product discontinuations such as delivery bottlenecks or price increases can thus be avoided. We cover various aspects of obsolescence management.
As an expert in customized embedded solutions and a full-service provider, we support our customers from the initial idea to the finished product. Our core competences include project and product management as well as hardware and software development.
We also take care of testing and certification, the procurement of components and the production of prototypes and series products. Even after the development process, we continue to provide after sales support and take care of lifecycle management.
