DHMI: New HMI concept for industrial applications

Based on over 25 years of experience, DH electronics has developed a new, modular concept for maximum flexibility and scalability of HMI solutions. The new HMI concept based on the DHMI Vision Baseboard offers a wide range of interfaces. In addition to two Gbit Ethernet interfaces, USB type C, RS485 and CAN, additional interfaces can easily be added with the modular concept. However, an HMI is not just about connectivity, but also about displaying content and interacting with applications. The 15.6'' HMI with PCAP touch and full HD also enables high-resolution display in industrial applications. The HMI concept is designed so that other displays and diagonals can be connected quickly and easily, and the underlying mechanical concept supports various installation options. Regardless of whether the end device is used in a surface-mounted, flush-mounted or panel-mounted installation, our mechanical concept meets these requirements and offers additional flexibility with VESA mounting. The HMI demo shows that with the new HMI concept from DH electronics, a simple, modular and cost-effective implementation of human machine interfaces is possible. The 15.6'' DHMI is based on a pluggable DHCOM i.MX8M Plus SOM with a web browser developed by DH. The web browser allows easy access to various websites. Access to the cloud data of the neighboring IoT Gateway Demo is shown at the trade fair demo. This demo consists of several components that together form a battery management system (BMS). The DRC Compact is the central control unit in this setup and sends the data to the cloud. The data collected by the DRC Compact can be visualized via the dashboard. The new HMI concept enables easy adaptation to customer-specific requirements and represents a flexible solution in the HMI area.
