Our membership in the Bavarian Economic Advisory Council

Since the beginning of the year DH electronics is a new member of the Bavarian Economic Advisory Council. The legally independent, cross-sectoral and politically autonomous professional association with its headquarters in Munich was founded in 1948 as Wirtschaftsbeirat der Union e.V. and represents the interests of around 1,800 members. These include entrepreneurs, business executives, representatives of the liberal professions as well as internationally operating large and medium-sized companies from all over Bavaria. The overriding goal of the Union is to secure and strengthen the future viability of Bavaria and its economy in the long term. This goal is to be achieved primarily through constructive dialogue and close cooperation and coordination with politicians.

To this end, a total of 24 committees have been set up in which specific specialist topics can be discussed and brought to the attention of politicians. In the future, DH electronics will primarily be involved in the committees "Industry, Technology and Digitization" and "Corporate Security". In these areas the company can make an important contribution thanks to its many years of experience as a supplier of embedded systems. As a specialist for computer modules, control panels and products for control and connectivity tasks, which are mainly used in industrial automation applications, DH electronics knows the opportunities and risks of the latest computer technologies.

In addition, the company has been conducting targeted research in the fields of edge computing and artificial intelligence for several years now in order to take a leading position in these areas in the future. The first market-ready edge computers for the Internet of Things - IoT for short - are already being successfully marketed in Europe. DH electronics will also actively contribute this know-how to the Bavarian Economic Advisory Council in the future.

Especially the topics Cloud and Edge Computing as well as Artificial Intelligence are likely to become significantly more relevant in the future. DH electronics pleads for more independence of European companies and consumers. Up to now, for example, there has been no cloud platform which guarantees compliance with the data protection provisions of the DSGVO.

In this context DH electronics wants to campaign for a European open source solution in order to regain data sovereignty and thus close security-critical gaps. DH electronics will further promote this concern in future committee meetings of the Bavarian Economic Advisory Council and also within the framework of the GAIA-X project of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy with full conviction.

In addition, the company will also be involved at regional level in the Berchtesgadener Land/Traunstein district. As a local company with headquarters in Chiemgau, DH electronics is taking the opportunity to deal with general economic policy issues as well as current topics from the region and to network with entrepreneurs from the districts.
