As varied as the peaks of the Alps are the requirements from the development to the design of visualization and HMI solution.
We have gained this experience in many years of cooperation with our customers. Whether different display technologies or operating concepts, every visualization application is unique.
The abbreviation HMI stands for Human-Machine Interface and refers to an interface (software or a device) that allows the user to communicate with machines or industrial equipment. Complex data volumes are transformed into comprehensible information that enables to operate easily and conveniently.
Human Machine Interfaces are used primarily in industry for a range of applications, and depending on their function, they have to perform simple or complex tasks. The area of use ranges from the control of simple machines to the coordination of the entire operation.
HMIs exists in a variety of forms with different operating elements e. g.:
- Buttons and switches
- Touch Displays
- Computer with input devices
- Mobile devices
With the help of the various operating elements, the user can enter information and execute tasks. Via a display such as a screen or signal lights, the user is provided with information about the status of the machine or the activity to be performed.
HMIs are mainly used in industrial environments for machine and process control. These user interfaces can be located directly on the machine or in a control room and are increasingly used as mobile terminals that provide the necessary data via cloud technology.
In the meantime, only a few industrial areas can be found without HMIs. Common application possibilities are found especially where many machines have to be controlled. Even in the private sector HMIs are used daily, often without the user being aware of it. For example, a human-machine interface is used when adjusting the microwave or when controlling the temperature in the vehicle. These easy-to-use consumer interfaces are also increasingly being used in the industrial environment, but with much more robust HMIs, because they have to function without any problems even in harsh industrial environments.
In order to ensure the highest degree of flexibility for us and our customers, we have developed our standard HMIs so that we can easily adapt and extend them at any time.
In addition to our standard HMI solutions, which have a size of 4.3" to 10" and a powerful i.MX6 processor, we also offer individual HMI design developments to meet the needs of our customers. Due to different requirements today, we have been able to build up considerable know-how in the implementation of customer-specific HMI solutions over the years.
