A successful project: WashTec uses PCAP touch systems by DH electronics
In close collaboration between the leading car wash systems manufacturer WashTec and DH electronics, the Control Panel 5 (CP5) was developed, designed especially for use in car washes. It is therefore water resistant and can be used without being adversely affected by damp or wet conditions.
The CP5 consists of a DHCOM AM3517 and supports the Windows Embedded Compact 7 operating system (optionally Linux).
Advantages for car wash operators
When the car stops in the car wash, the customer first receives the most important information for operating the car wash in the chosen language and can then select the desired payment method. In addition to cash and credit/debit cards, transponder cards and bar codes are accepted. During the washing process, various content, such as advertising videos, can be displayed on the screen.
There are numerous advantages, not only for the users of the car wash, but also for the operator. Thanks to the CP5, various display parameters – such as prices, opening times, and check lists – can be changed and adjusted without great effort. A further highlight is the use of the device from home or via smart phone, made possible by a server connection and giving the operator full access to the terminal.
PCAP touch systems for robust, industrial use
DH electronics develops and produces PCAP touch systems for professional use. These are based on the DH iPCAP controller PCT120, which, as a BGA module or as a complete OEM board, can easily be integrated into the customers' products – just as is the case for WashTec's control panels.
Until recently, only single-touch solutions have been used at DH electronics. Since the beginning of 2016, touch controllers with multitouch design have been deployed. These support all the popular operating systems in the field of embedded computing (Windows Embedded Compact 7, Linux, Android).
